The life of a puritan Child was pretty much as the one of an adult, they were expected to follow the same strict code. They need to do chores and attend church. They couldn’t show any kind of emotion or feelings and when they disobeyed they got a terrible punishment. Puritans though playing with toys and games was a sin so children didn’t have a fun childhood as normal children would have. Boys had a little more freedom in their lives, unlike girls who were expected to be always on the house completing chores and helping their mothers, boys could actually go out to help in carpentry or fishing. Many children learned to read but there weren’t books for young kids in that time, basically the only thing they could read was the bible.

By the other hand, Salem Town, was a prosperous port at center of trade with London, most of the people were wealthy merchants
